British Airways i360 Observation Tower

If you want to see the whole of Brighton and are limited for time, visit the Brighton viewing tower, also known as the British Airways i360, from the top of the tower you'll be able to see for miles and take in the views of this marvellous south coast seaside city.

The Brighton i360 tower is Brighton's latest landmark, standing 162 meters tall and located on the gorgeous Brighton seafront just in front of the old West Pier. Now sponsored by British Airways the tower's current official name is the British Airways i360, but many people still refer to observation tower as the Brighton i360 or simply the Brighton viewing tower. This observation tower in Brighton consists of a completely enclosed observation capsule that travels up the tower, offering visitors 360-degree views. On a clear day, from the top of Brighton i360, visitors are able to take in the sights of Brighton, the English Channel, the South Downs and the Isle of Wight.

The concept of Brighton i360 was to create a vertical pier, a Brighton viewing tower, for visitors and locals alike to see Brighton from a high. Part of the reasoning to create a vertical pier, was due to the ruined West Pier that it stands in front of, creating a piece of modern architecture to compliment the Victorian traditional architecture, in the hope that investment would also be made into re-building the West Pier. Marks Barfield Architects have been responsible for the design and full creation of the Brighton i360, much of the cost of the development was funded by Brighton and Hove council.

If you are planning a visit to Brighton and are looking for things to do in Brighton, then GivYo suggests you consider visiting the tallest moving observation tower in the UK. The setting of the Brighton i360 is fabulous, with traditional tea rooms making up the fore setting of the British Airways i360 tower, a flight on the Brighton i360 tower makes a trip to Brighton complete. Within the capsule you are able to freely walk about and take in the views from whichever angle you so desire. The capsule allows for 175 visitors to comfortably take a flight, it's in fact 10 times larger than a capsule on the London Eye. On board the British Airways Brighton i360 is the Sky Bar, so if you fancy a beverage on your flight, there are plenty of options of alcoholic drinks and soft drinks. There is also a wonderful selection of locally produced beverages such as Brighton Gin.
