You will be lead on a short expedition of the Sólheimajökull glacier with a fully certified mountain guide, who will show you the ropes of ice walking. If you've never ventured into ice walking before or if you are thinking of taking your children ice walking whilst in Iceland then this is the perfect experience to take part in.

You will get a taster of glacier walking with a ninety-minute ice walk on the Sólheimajökull glacier, this brief expedition is recommended for anyone aged 8 years of age, there is no maximum age limit for this ice walking adventure, as long as you’re willing. Group sizes with this ice walking experience in Iceland tend to be of an average size of fifteen people. One of the most popular glacier walking experiences, we do suggest that you book as far in advance for this one as possible, as it does get booked up pretty early.

Be prepared for a full day out on this ice walking experience, as Sólheimajökull is a couple of hours drive from the capital (transfers are included), plus the timing of the walk will depend on the speed that the group dictates. Perhaps you wouldn't be content with glacier walking experience in Iceland as a stand alone activity, but perhaps you'd prefer this ice walking and ice climbing experience in Sólheimajökull.
