Want to find out how music came to be what it is today...

Let's set the scene for this Music History class, it's 1912 in the "Deep South" of America, slavery had been abolished over 40 years previous but inequality was immense. It was a depressing time but somehow from this negativity a wonderful muscial creation developed... "The Blues".

This Music History class tells a storey of how music in these genres has developed, in some cases it is very difficut to find the true origin but we can tell you how the modern sounds of these genres were created. The Music History lesson beings with a welcome drink, depending on the starting genre, this could be bourbon or the Blues, rum for the Reggae but we never start with grunge as that could mean that we never get through the class! We will discuss the beginings of these genres, how they have developed into the sounds of today and the influences behind them. If you are hands on, we will also go through some rifts and chords so you can have a physical connection with the music.

You will have the chance to choose two genres of music in this Music History class, on completing the first genre of music, we will stop for a quick bite to eat and perhaps a drink. After our pit stop lunch break we will then start our discussions on your second music genre choice. Again we will go through the development of the genre up until the modern days sounds, listen to some samples and discuss the genres main influencers.
